Floating and Sinking Experiment
Evan took part in an experiment to see what kind of objects floated and which sunk. We were wondering why is it that a big heavy boat can float in water and a small coin sinks in water?
First we took a guess at wither the object would float or sink then we carried out the experiment. Here are the pictures of the results of our experiment.
What can you notice about the objects that floated and those that sunk? Sometimes things that we thought would sink, like the block of wood actually floated. The scissors which we thought was light actually sunk.
