THE FIELD

  • Antony is a British sculptor and most of his work is on the human body.
  • The figures in the field represent the human race.
  • All the figures are unique because each of them were made by different people.
  • Each one measures between 8 and 26cm and are all different shapes and sizes.
  • Each of the figures are facing the one direction to represent our individuality.
  • It also represents our loneliness; being in a crowd yet not interacting.
  • The edge of The Field is a straight line representing the extent of human development.
  • The Field contains 40,000 figures made with 30 tonnes of clay which works out at 75g per figure.
