A girl called Avril, 13, was in hospital due to get her tonsils removed. She was nervous but was glad of them to be gone. She came in on the 13th of February, the day before Valentine’s Day! She was ready for the operation but wasn’t ready for what she was about to find.
She woke early the next day and the surgery had gone well and good. She was feeling tired until a handsome student doctor called Darragh came in to check her observations. Her face lit up and her jaw hit the floor. Her blood pressure went sky high and she got heart palpitations. He became worried and asked for a second opinion. A nurse then came in and everything was fine when she checked.
He came back in later that morning with a love heart pinned to his uniform for the occasion. He tried to ask how she was feeling. She couldn’t speak but not because of the operation. That evening Avril decided to make Darragh a “thank you” card, her sister thought otherwise. She decorated it with glitter and dotted her i’s with hearts. She didn’t sign her name out of embarrassment.
She went to his office and made sure he wasn’t in. She slid it under the door and got out of there as quick as she could. Little did she know Darragh had seen her as he was walking down the corridor. She was brought on a walk to keep her energy up and when she arrived back to her bed there was a card and a love heart balloon at her bed. The card simply said “I knew it was you”. It wasn’t the fact she got a card or a balloon that made her happy, she was happiest at the fact that there was three kisses at the end of the card. She couldn’t wait to go home and tell her friends.
