The Life and Times of The Romans: By Hugo Fossati

My account of Rome by Hugo Fossati

Romulus and Remus were born in the capital of Italy, which we now call Rome. Then their father, the Roman God of War, asked the twins to build a huge wall similar to the wall of China. Two weeks later they were both begging for water from the River Tiber, where the twins had been left when they were only babies. But then the king came along with his men to tell them build more blocks before you get any more water. I want my Empire built before the Queen arrives.

“Hey this is our Land”. “How dare you say that before our king”. Then the war starts and the Italians attack the French. “Archers ready”  – then they shoot.

Then Romulus and Remus find two dragons. Rrrrrrrraaaaaarrrrrr!!!! Then Romulus says “Fly dragon, Fly!” Then the dragon gets one of the French attackers and wraps himself around him. By the end of the attack the Italians have won the war. Then Romulus says “No more fighting years again”.

The Roman Army

Only men could join the army. No women could join the army.

When your 20 years old you could join the army. You had to stay for at least 25 years.

The people in the army were not supposed to get married until they were out of the army.

Most soldiers came from countries far away from Italy like Gaul, Germany and Spain

What the Romans did in their spare Time

In their spare time the Roman soldiers made weapons for their reinforcements to attack their enemies.

They also played board games in their spare time. They use dices and boards

Hunting was also popular for Rome in those times they went hunting for food and clothing.

Fighting was also popular in Rome, it was tough for the people who were fighting, as they would die really easily. And fighting took place in large arenas called amphitheatres.
